I SOOOOO love this one Karen! I keep coming back to it! It totally reminds me of me when I was younger (and had blond hair!) I use to draw on all the walls in the house then cover it up back with furniture and my parents didn’t find out until years later! Love it!!!!!

Ow Karin – you’ve brought tears to me eyes. You really have.

I am just sat here listening to the latest Kings of Leon album, writing my personal journal where I am looking at the whole subject of living. Am I allowed to get it wrong. Right and wrong. The stuff taught to me as a kid – and how that in many ways so badly coloured my life. And as I was writing, and allowing myself to dream, love and live I was reminded of the colours of the rainbow. A rainbow – meant to be a reminder of the judgement of a corrupt mankind, and promise we’d never be flooded again. Me – I’d have created the sharpest razor blade as a reminder, or a burning hot fire. But God – nah he used a rainbow. An achingly beautiful rainbow -full of a myriad of colours no man can count. No one better than another. No white and black, just everything between. So as I was contemplating I thought I’d see what RB had to offer in terms of a rainbow. Et voila. You. I guess that’s true really. You. You and your art. You and your dreams. Your love. Your life.

Karin – forgive the musings of an emotional english bloke. A rainbow speaks of promise. Dreams. Love. Life. And you just capture that so well. Your love for life, and your art, who you are just pops out of the images you create. And this one is so perfect of that. It speaks to me of someone who is totally at home, at peace with themselves, not caring whether it’s white or black – just content to explore the rainbow. The innocence of this image. The child like simplicity. The love of life.

You are one in seven billion. Just remember that, and don’t lose it!

i love the analogy of life as a rainbow, with so many different and beautiful hues, are any of them wrong, i don’t think so, we are so diverse, and yet the same, a paradox….beautiful, lilting, we are the sum of our own life’s poetry…we are a poem…. we are many, and yet one….is it not more lovely than life itself, to ponder that….perhaps we grew up with blinkers on, having been influenced by many factors and people and others beliefs, but there comes a time in everyone’s life where we discover we can make our own decisions about our beliefs, through the wisdom living affords us….we learn a little, learn to let go of a lot…i try to look at it like this…

everyone (most) are doing the best job they can…of course some are slackers and some are just dead evil…but for the most part people are striving to survive in a world of conflicting ideas, money and power struggles, and uncertainty…. if we can forgive others their inconsistencies and painful mistakes, then why not afford ourselves the same outpouring of grace…whether or not what we did wrong in the eyes of others, i dunno that that’s the big deal here, it’s more about where we went wrong, admitting it, fessing up, saying sorry and letting it go….like watching a beer bottle float out to sea on the tide….it’s an empty vessel…it once had some kick in it…..but its passed through the system, gone out to sea, and now we have a chance at a new day, every day is a chance to start afresh and anew :)
