Karen Gingell

Born and raised in New Jersey having now spent over a third of my life living and working in Australia and South East Asia.
Mainly self-taught Awalys loved to draw and remember using brown paper shopping bags when drawing paper ran out. Have attended and still doing so – numerous fine and graphic art courses both in New York and Melbourne

Dance and movement inspire a lot of my work, appreciating the physicality and the mental focus of dancers and performers and their ability to perfect the illusion of effortlessness.

Am currently venturing into landscapes, what I like to see as nature on a more intimate smaller scale. Have also been introduced to many farm creatures in the past two years and they have provided lots of inspiration
