Update on Just to Say....

My operation went well, very little pain….

Went back to Guys Hospital last Friday for the results and thankfully all clear. A small tumour, caught early, and lymph nodes clear. A stage 1 non aggressive cancer.

Unfortunately, because the tumour was a funny shape they didn’t get a big enough margin of healthy tissue so now have to go back for another operation on 15th December!
I am getting more nervous about this one. But will be over with very soon.

Still to find out exact treatment but probably 4 weeks of radiotherapy and a drug for 5 years. Then, if all clear still, my chances of getting breast cancer again will be the same as for anyone else – 1 in 9 (which really is quite high).

Just to say...

…. sorry to you all for not looking or commenting on your work for such a long time.

Things have been a bit hectic in the last 6 weeks, and may well be so for a few more weeks.

I have now moved back to Witney in Oxfordshire… a change of scenery! And, just after I had got a date to move, I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. Only a tiny lump that will be removed on Wednesday, and hopefully not spread.
