This is gorgeous, Karen! What a beautiful little girl, and love the fact you did this with biro and inktense. I love drawing with biro, and notice a lot more artists are using it for serious work. Is there a particular brand of ball point you use?
Thank you Karin – I’m trying to use mostly ones with the ISO 12757-2 rating for their archival quality, and so am using the Staedtler Triplus Ballpens for much of the work and then the Bic pens for some of the finer work. I would love to find a brand that doesn’t clot, but not sure if one exists. Which brands do you like?

I had never thought of it before Fiona, until one of my friend’s sons had to do a self portrait in ballpoint pen for his HSC and I was so inspired by his work that I had to give it a go :)
