wowww Karen! this is INCREDIBLE! gosh…. you are excellent!
Aren’t you lovely Jo-anne – thank you!!! I am thinking of doing some pieces featuring an artist’s hands drawing pieces that challenge the viewer’s perception, and this was just a trial work.
– Karen Hull
a trial work! you’re kidding me Karen lol! a trial turned perfection! I am super impressed of your skills my friend :):):)
Thank you Jo-anne – you’re a darling!!! :))
Oh you are so clever Karen! I agree with Jo-anne totally. This is so beautifully painted. Those pan pastels really work for you. The light and shade is incredible. Most impressive work and very gasp-worthy!!!
Lynda – you always write the loveliest things!!! Do you use the Pan Pastels much? Also, I picked up some of the the new Colourfix suede last week – have you tried it? It’s not as abrasive as the original paper, but has a funny bubble texture to the surface – I actually think it is better suited to colour pencils than pastels.
Brilliant work of art Karen!! It’s so beautiful and rich in detail and colour…….stunning job!!Also a very nice variation of my fellow country man M.C. Escher’s work http://www.linesandcolors.com/images/2008-06/es..., did you use it as an inspiration?Super piece!!
Thank you Arie – you are so generous!!! Someone else mentioned M C Escher’s work so I’m going to check it out today – I have heard of him but am not familiar with his works – hopefully I can gain some inspiration from him!!!

I have always loved depicting hands. Yours are absolutely fabulous!!
Thank you so much Deb – it would have been much easier to draw my own hands a few years ago, when there weren’t quite so many lines to draw in LOL!!!
Wow! Looks so real!!! Amazing work!!
Thank you so much Valentina – I always appreciate your comments!!! :)
Fantastic Karen! I find hands very hard to do but this is amazing! Well done.
I’m with you Jo – I usually avoid hands, but because of a few ideas I have that I would like to try, I thought I’d better practise!!! Thank you for your kind comments!!! :)
Really well done!
