8×10 inch artwork of a beautiful Burmese kitten, done with coloured pencils on matte board. This artwork will be the subject of a cat portrait step by step tutorial for the Fine Arts and Decorative Painting magazine and will be published in 3-4 months. Reference photo was a gorgeous photo of a little cat called Fry taken by Kaibara87 http://www.flickr.com/photos/kaibara/2982584712... (flickr creative commons), and was used with his kind permission.

Full time artist and illustrator, specialising in realistic images in a range of mediums, but particularly favouring coloured pencils.

    Karen…………….beautiful, maybe I should try coloured pencils one day, I think it looks more realistic than water colour

  • I love watercolours Heidi, but have never really mastered them – I think it depends on your individual style and what you are trying to achieve. I love the convenience and versatility of pencils but wish I could master watercolours too – I love their transparency!!! :)

  • No worries Linda – My first tutorial came out last week and is now available in newsagents and then I have a tutorial coming out every month now until they tell me they’re sick of me.
