I found this old weathered tree clinging to the side of the Grand Canyon. There was something so spiritual and so lonely; like it had finally succumbed to Mother Nature’s elements.

I love the way the texture of its bark complimented the sheer ruggedness of the canyon’s amazing structure. Arizona USA.

I’m one lucky lady who lives on a remote tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Inspired by the surrounding beauty above and below, I took up photography as a hobby several years go. This has now turned out to be an all consuming passion, driven by the desire to promote the Cocos (Keeling) Islands the only way I know, through my eyes and lens.

Thank you Angel for the lovely comment and FAV! :) Greatly appreciate your taking the time to look. I’d say it would be a well photographed tree as it is on the tourist trail of the south rim. Such an old weathered dear; I’m sure it would have a lot of secrets to tell :)

How long has it stood watching over the canyon, I wonder. A very beautiful image, Karen!

  • Hi Bette.. Oh wouldn’t we like to know the answer to that question. And the tales this old man could tell. Thank you for the lovely compliment :)
