This is my home, my haven. A place where I come and reflect on the beauty that surrounds me every day.

Yacht Club Beach (a bit tongue in cheek!), West Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, is an easy bike ride or walk from “Settlement” (no official walking track name has been given). You can either elect to take the coconut palm fringed gravel road or divert along the beach. Either way, it is an enjoyable 6km trek.

Take the beach and meet the locals; hermit crabs, horn-eyed ghost crabs and rock jumping crabs as well as inquisitive Noddys. Turtles and small reef sharks cruise in the shallow waters as well as a myriad of marine fish. What more could you ask for. Best of all…. You may well be the only person! How is that for serenity.

’BRINGING COCOS TO THE WORLD"

I’m one lucky lady who lives on a remote tropical island in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Inspired by the surrounding beauty above and below, I took up photography as a hobby several years go. This has now turned out to be an all consuming passion, driven by the desire to promote the Cocos (Keeling) Islands the only way I know, through my eyes and lens.
