Cape Town, South Africa

Wildly alive, wondrously living, learning, laughing, loving.. a poet, dreamer, photographer, not-so-serious-philosopher – treading...

I’m a writer, poet, dreamer, photographer, traveler… occasional painter.. this and more.. I love people, this life, this experience of living… and believe that any day that we have not laughed in, we have wholly lost!
I simply want to acknowledge that within us, which….. despite the heartache, the loss, the grief…. takes a deep breath at the start of each new day and says: What if… and has the courage to not only cut the losses, and embrace the present, but also to see the promise within another day.
And sometimes, even the promise within. :)

I’m a South African, living at home.
I hope that all other aspects of who I am, was, and could be, will speak through what I post here.

Thoughts on fire.. a quote

Someday, after we have mastered / the winds, the waves, the tide, / and gravity, we shall harness / the energies of love. / Then, for the second time / in the history of the world, / man will have discovered fire. / Pierre Teilhard de Chardin SJ – a French philosopher and Jesuit priest who trained as a paleontologist and geologist.

Forging ahead..

We must sieze the opportunities to charge our own myths and forge our own ways, and truth, when it speaks, must be heard, must be felt, if we ignore it, we ignore what is alive and real and raw and beautiful, and we eschew a vital life force for sanitised, prosaic lives of banal predictability…
