Do the well-read ever see the writing on the wall?
Will the well-spoken tell the story of what made it fall?
Who are the rich?
Do they have limosines?
Or are they just the humble laymen
with the gift of simple dreams?
Do you still expect protection
as you stoop to pick up a stone?
Do you even understand the issue
of why your own burn down your home?
And have you been so well trained
that what you see you just believe?
As war and flames lick your television screens
here reality breathes calm reprieve..
Do you expect to be worshipped
for pledging allegiance to the Pope?
What have you done to stop the pedlars
of the chemical attempts at hope?
Our children have wooden eyes.
What message is heard?
What message is proclaimed?
What difference does it make
and sons die and generations are maimed?
And I can have no pity for you
if you cannot take a stand.
Somewhere in this fist of confusion
there lies a resolution.
All it takes
is for you to unclench your hand.

Very powerful Karen – very, very powerful. The condition of the heart of man today is such a sad, sad thing. The resolution – embrace goodness – one heart at a time, love our neighbors – one person at a time. Deny evil it’s day. A touching and masterful piece of writing.
