Mythological Creatures

This is my imagining of Gaia, she is the world personified and the force of nature that many call “Mother Earth"In Greek Mythology the Earth personified is the goddess Gaia.

She was the daughter of Chaos. She was the mother and wife of Uranus (Heaven)

Their children were the Titans. The Titans in turn were the parents of Zeus and the elder gods of Greek mythology. A “Titan” is also used to mean a person or thing of very great strength, intellect, or importance.

Thus Gaia is the Mother of all great things. It embraces the Earth Mother in us all.

The word “Gaia” has also come to mean the earth viewed as a vast self-regulating organism.

It is a purposeful thing that my imagining of the “All Mother” (as Jung called this concept) is a woman of color. She represents all woman of the world.
