Leopard or Zebra Sharks (Stegostoma fasciatum) are quite common in the Gulf of Oman Sea. I like these elegant swimmers very much, but I had not very often the pleasure to meet them. A Sucker fish (Echeneis naucrates) is on its tail.
He gave me one shot, the he went away.

Leo is one splendid fellow, Norbert! Fine colors, not to mention those patterns! I was hoping to see some Oman images… my sister & brother-in-law lived there for a while & just loved it. They didn’t get under water, though!

  • It’s a wonderful country! I’ve been there tree times. It is the richest sea I ever have seen. Thank you very much.

Awesome photo Norbert. Is that something around it’s tail?

  • Thank you Thomas. It’s a sucker fish.

An unusual shark, Norbert, not quite as streamlined as others, a little more chunky, but beautiful nonetheless. How many meters is this guy?

  • This fellow was about two meters long. After I took the photo he swam away. Thank you Gary.
