Super Norbert, how big do those things get?

  • Norbert Probst replied

Thank you Dean. This one was about 1,5 Meter. They can get up to 3,5 Meter. But this is very rare.
    Cheers, Norbert

Don’t you ever go home and watch TV like normal people do? Awesome shot.

  • Norbert Probst replied

    Thank you.
Yes, I do, Gary. Because I have to work out the photos I bring with me from traveling. But if I have the choice, I prefer diving. Now I’m “dry” since two weeks. I was in Austria and dived with a dry suit in a cold lake up in the mountains. I am happy that I leave in three weeks to Indonesia.
    Cheers, Norbert

Jeez, you sure get around, Norbert! Is this your profession? By the way, I guess you know that one of those rays killed Steve Irwin. That was a very sad day for Australia.

  • Norbert Probst replied

Yes, It’s my profession. If you like to know more, please read my profile.
Steve was killed by a sting ray. I have read the story but I don’t know what was true and what was made by media. Perhaps he was a little bit careless. You should carefully respect wild animals. They are no toys. Even not for TV-shows.
I have seen hundreds of stingrays. Sometimes very close. But I always let them a way out if they like to escape. I never would go above a stingray. Then they feel caught and try to defend.
    Cheers, Norbert
