Hide and Seek

Tall people are never much good at hide and seek;

it’s hard to find spots large enough for our physique.

The intelligent are quite good at hide and seek:

they learn quickly, they master the technique.

I grasped hiding early on:

from the looks of it, I was gone.

I became skilled at seeking,

in a matter of speaking.

Seeking escape,

until my memory changed shape.

Seeking attention,

but for mere pretension.

Seeking recognition,

but without admission.

I tried to hide

from the positive side.

I let my ego misguide,

but did nothing with pride.

Now my eyes are open wide.

Here I come!
