Part of the recovered wreck of the Batavia which was wrecked in 1629 on Morning Reef in the Wallabi Group of the Abrolhas Islands. Definitely worth a walk around this exhibit and to see the huge beams in their rough state which formed the inside of the ship
This section of the Batavia is preserved in a section of the Western Australian Maritime Museum in Fremantle WA.
A touch of hdr to bring out the warmth of the timber, however, the exhibit is lit with soft warm lighting which also bring out the colour of the ancient timbers
