A cottage at the Culloden memorial site, Scotland.
The thatching is from heather.

This is an incredible site to visit, the interpretive centre is full of historical information and the site itself, as I walked around, it seemed that voices were hushed and an over arching sense of sadness prevailed. However, it is a place not to be missed for anyone who has interest in the history of Scotland and the Jacobite wars

I live in beautiful Western Australia, where we are lucky to a wonderful diversity of wildflowers, many of which appear in my portfolio.

The Mists of Culloden equals my aka….. cullodenmist.

  • it is a strange place, I have visited a couple of times and each time there was a hush despite the number of people walking around

Lovely Image Kala, love the different sizes of the stones in the walls. Those big Scotts men would have had to duck low to get inside. LOL. A sad but wonderful history. It would be well worth a visit.

  • It is, we stayed at Inverness and it is not far away
