A picnic spot near Holywell in Wales was dominated by a pair of swans guarding their quite large young, one of the swans is powering to chase of some gulls just landing near the young ones. A building edging the pond is reflected in the water.

From the swan master, praise indeed :)
A very beautiful compostion!!!! Excellent!!!! Bill
Thanks Bill, I really liked the buildings reflected around the swans
i no longer have swans! all have flown the nest now, and of course, poor dad died. mum came back for the kids, and now the lake is empty!
Do you think one of the offspring will come back and make it home?
Lovely work … swans are so beautiful on the water !
Yes they are, I enjoyed seeing white ones for a change :)
doubtful- we had one pair that returned the next year and mated and produced a litter, but at the end, there were other swans upsetting things, fighting etc, don’t know who ended up with who! this year, as the babes matured, (only 5 months) two males arrived and tried to seperate the babes into two groups, presumably three males and two girls, then tried to fly off with them, but they couldn’t make flight. went on for a day or two, then they left, and mum came back for them, and all flew off into the great yonder. would love to find out where they all are and go visit!!
A gorgeous capture!! I love the reflections! But the story of their fate and whereabouts is a bit sad. Nature is a tough Mum! ♥♥
Thanks. Dougie’s swans have flown and if you have not seen his fabulous swan pics, they are worth the look. My friends here were certainly feisty and well.
White swans, so beautiful, lovely to see!!
Yes, they were lovely, pristine white :)
