Lechenaultia biloba, Floor of the Sky, or Blue Lechenaultia. Native of Western Australia’s Perth region, this straggling shrub grows to a height and spread of 60cm. It has small soft greyish green leaves and from late winter to spring flowers that range from pale blue to deep blue. Easily found along roadside verges. Found in the Serpentine forest area in Western Australia Spring 2011

    Beautiful image! I’ve never seen these. We have a similar flower in the US with a similar periwinkle color, but a different petal. Thanks for sharing.

    These remind me a bit of chicory which is beautiful, very common and grows on the side of the road at least in the eastern U.S.- the blooms dont last long but are an intense blue – wonderful contrast!
