Historic Assynt in Sepia by

View of the two buildings of Ardvreck Castle and Calda House in sepia. These building are part of the Inchnadamph Project which was formed in 1997 to consolidate the ruins of this area of Ullapool. Calda House was built in 1726-7 for the wife of the new MacKenzie who acquired the property after the decline of the MacLeods in this vicinity.

    Such a lonely looking place

  • It is very open, lovely on such a day we visited, but I could image ferocious winds sweeping through there in winter.
