Artist's Description

Qualup Bell or Pimelea physodes belongs to the family Thymelaeaceae and is found on sandplains and hillsides in the south of Western Australia.
Pimelea is a genus of approx. 80 species, most of which are Australia but some are also from NZ. Most are shrubs. The flowers cluster at the ends of branches and are enclosed by leafy bracts which produce the large pendant flower head giving it a bell shape.
