Grevillea - Tickled Pink
Tickled Pink is a hybrid of the genus Grevillea, a native Australian plant. Quite outstanding in colour and form, it is a favourite of mine.

They are beautiful, thank you for your comment. I was trying to think where you found this image, because it was uploaded quite early and tehn realised I used it for the front of the challenge :)

Thank you Michael, I thought since it was the current avatar of the group, I would put the larger version up.

Cheers Mik!
I assume this is the 2nd of the Mt Barren Grevilleas you mentioned and I can see why it is a favourite. The flower is so strikingly pretty and its habit makes for a lovely display.
As you already know, most Grevilleas and very difficult to photograph mainly because they poke out at all angles and this flower falls into that category.
Consequently I take my hat off to you for the job you have done here as I can easily see the difficulties encountered with this species.
Your angle of shot shows off the flower very well and your composition is only spoiled slightly by the amputations.
The focus is very good and the depth of field works well for the majority of the scene. May I suggest that you use the Clone Stamp to replace the blurred “knob” with a sharp one? I know that may not be “kosher” but it would look better. 8-)
The lighting is really sweet and your exposure has really done it justice.
Contrast and highlights are well controlled and the colours are wonderfully natural.
Love that pink!

Thanks Dennis – this was a different one (although one of my favourites)and I will send you the link for whichever one is not found. Thank you so much for this wonderful critique – I had not even noticed I had chopped off bits nor thought about cloning. Good advice. I will find the original and try. So appreciated thank you.
