Ring of Brodgar
My favourite of all of the photos I took of this fabulous stone circle on the Orkney Isles. Also known as the Orcadian Stones..
The Ring has an area of 90,790 square feet (8,435 sq.m.). It is situated on a neck of land between the lochs Stenness and Harray. The circle has 36 stones remaining of an original 60 and the tallest still standing is approx. 15ft in height. There are carvings on some of the stones. We found the whole area quite fascinating as depending on which way we faced, the view was either very dark and broody or full of light.
Taken on film and scanned.

Now then Tom, if you take a tour bus, you can see this and the Ring of Brodgar, they don’t give a lot of time at the ring though. Well worth the visit and I would go back in a shot.
