High Tide at the Pools
Havelet Bay, St Peter Port, Guernsey.
On the edge of town there are some seawater bathing pools. When the tide comes up and there’s an Easterly wind waves crash over the walls. These are the walls of the Childrens and the Ladies Pools.

Superb shot indeed. i love the light and colour and the softness of the waves using longer exposure. Top notch photography my friend.

Thanks Shawn. I was hoping to get a sunrise too but it was too cloudy in the end, but the waves at high tide were fab. I haven’t tried much long exposure on the sea so was pleased how this turned out. ND grad is next on list of must-haves.

Excellent image Karen.

this is a beautiful image, just doing some research as I’m looking to pop over there for a holiday, the photographic opportunities seem to be perfect to me!
Karen Millard replied
Thanks Laura. It’s a beautiful place and if you like taking photos of the sea and sunsets then you will love it. Spring is the best time, the cliffs are stunning, covered in gorse and wild flowers. Hopefully we will have good weather over the Easter weekend and I will definitely be there taking lots more pictures.
