I’ll get the ball rolling, for what my comments are worth….
I see forces working in different directions, at opposite ends of the colour spectrum. My first thought was rising Kundalini energy, then I started thinking of something Tantric, then I started to see the blazing shaft as something quite phallic. But the thing is that, pursuing this reading, the blue feminine forcesare remaining strangely neutral.
When I view it larger, I notice the scratchings. Not sure how they would fit in with this interpretation…. Hope this may be of help…

a very exciting peace..i like it alot it stimulates my mind and eye…great abstract…

It’s the backbone of the earth ,the spine of the world dying ,extinction.
Kathy Kuzma
I love the dynamic you’ve created with the colors you chose and patterns you’ve created. The blue is so bright yet somehow seems more calm and subdued with its horizontal patterns, while the red is so dynamic, like fire just tearing through these blue links. I agree with Phil, it’s a very exciting and stimiluting piece. I like it a lot.
mcdowell
like peeking btween two water tanks at a bush fire. This is interesting k, the flattening of the space accentuates the abstraction…early work of Tim Maguire comes to mind

I first saw exactly what mcdowell did, fire between two watertanks weird, then It turned into piles of books mayby knowlege slowly catching fire, then again dont mind my imagination havn’t been up long! Stunning painting Kafka!
Paul Milburn

To my uncultured mind this painting represents the sins of man crashing through the atmosphere on a collision course with the earth – a meteoric environmental disaster. Regardless, it is strikingly beautiful and emotionally evocative.

Still ripping the ends on mortality down the middle and exposing the worth on its spine. To Kafka!
Love your work as always my fine art (all pompous shit aide) friend, Miss hearing from you, and I know, that is time’s move, So, be well and laugh as hard as it hurts; no harder. —C.C.

incredibly alive colors. great play on the classic tension of orange and blue.
Laurkat
the rising Kundalini energy was what also came to mind for me. a river of fiery growth pushing along. I love your work.

Awesome. Where plates collide… and erupt!

Whoa….this made me sit up straight. And take a gulp of air.
Visceral…
“What is it?”
Right now what I’m seeing is DNA strand, unravelled.
But maybe that’s because of the title.
Whatever it is or isn’t, it’s got me by the throat.
Thank you for sharing it…..
kafka replied
thank you rob, i’m happy that you made such a strong connection to the work – the ‘auto da fe’ of the title refers to the practice of burning heretics at the stake during the middle ages – so you seeing dna unravelling is pretty much a similar thing! – thank you again for such a positive reaction.
