Despite the Kafkaesque feel and subject matter this seems like a real departure. A lot more flamboyant and immediate than much of your portfolio. In fact quite a shock…......

Thank you all for your very kind comments. This is a very recent work and is a ‘bit of a departure’ for me. I have gone back to the two main concerns of a painter – light and colour – to the exclusion of all else. A kind of a return to basics in order to get a new beginning for my next series of paintings. I am sure that bigger and more complex work will follow – but in the meantime…..this is working (for me)

I love this, contrasting colors and did you use a knife? Keeping a piece simple and still fine art is very hard to do – you did it.

I like the simplicity of it! It has a wonderful energy that jumps out at the viewer.

ah, this is just what I needed this morning, warmth and glow and glass-green lustruos water and smearing silky paint and tactile sensations and energy.
Your paintings always makes feel like I should drop everything and go home and paint Kafka, they draw me in and I just want to get my hands dirty.

Oh I just love that shadowy feel at the front of the wave – just how it would look with a low sun and another big wave out of sight. Stunning painting!!!
