watercolour #1 stonehenge

watercolour #1 stonehenge

watercolour on paper 16” x 12”
This little painting was done as a homage to an unknown (by me) painter whose work I found illustrating an old book dating from the 1930’s. It was full of the most wonderful landscape sketches of the English southern counties. If I ever find out his name I will let you know!

oooh- the clouds here are beautiful; that crisp edge of light especially compliments them (the crispness/jaggedness of the actual stones though is a bit awkward).

most excellent depiction of light. while looking at this, though it is 16” x 12”, your composition and use of color gives the illusion that it is much, much larger.

Hi kafka; it was the vibrancy of your “Extinctions” which drew me in here, but this work stopped me. The bucolic serenity of it, and the contrasting blues and yellows, are delightful.
