Extinction 09.3#2(2)
This is a re-worked version of Ext.09.3#2 – the first version had been sitting in my studio for a few months struggling to dry properly – as often happens to things that hang about for too long anywhere near me, they get changed!
This is the new version – I turned it upside down because I liked the idea of the whale’s fluke flying away….........
I’ll put it up for critique here
Extinction 09.3#2(2) belongs to the following groups:
Painters In Modern Times - TWO PER DAY and THE SISTERHOOD Available for sale asGreeting Cards, Matted Prints, Laminated Prints, Mounted Prints, Canvas Prints and Framed Prints

I really like this, and the strange thing is, I can’t think of how to say why. I know why, but can’t quite find the right words to explain it. Its the colours I think, so unlikely, yet, so matching. It reminds me of an ariel view of a deep ocean ridge meeting a baron desert landscape. It really is quite breathtaking to look at.

I haven’t been clicking on much work lately but this work stood out a mile in the new work feed. Wow kafka, I should have known it belonged to you – bloody brilliant ! Your work is always fresh and exciting. It engages the viewer in a way that most contemporary artists do not. You are the master of your craft and I envy you.

I like them both-both versions. I also like the idea of a diptych or triptych. The way you play with color, depth, movement and contrast is masterful. This is the type of work that is timeless.

An outcome is but a mere component in a future exploration. Even when dry, finished and almost forgotten my own outcomes are always in danger. There is always the chance a new line of enquiry will demand they are cut up or reused in some other way. So I can understand your need to revisit this always intriguing image.
