Artist's Description

How great it would be
if my mother could see me
Like colors of the sea

she’d see
how free I am playing here

With the Sun on our backs
and Wind in our hair
She smiled at me with eyes so fair

when i was young
and she was young

and free

We had so much fun
playing in the sun
went so well that way
I wished we stay

until I was made
to grab a gun

Uncle Sam said it was the thing to do
the country really needs you
Serve and protect

Freedom
is the thing

a new game
of life and death
where things are killed in one short breath

In the name of freedom we fight
to protect our country
we fly out of sight
around the world we show our might

while killing kids and mothers in flight
someone yells “incoming”
in the middle of the night

Ages ago I remember this plight
so well the memory never leaves my sight
In the morning I awake from dreadful fright
In some stinking fox hole of night
a man comes to wake me

now out of sight
came to tell me in the middle of the night
my mother was no longer able to fight

She had died in the middle of the night

No longer able to carry on
not too long after I was gone

Shed gotten some kind of pneumonia
in some dreadful third word country
my dads career
had taken her to

My mother was gone
to never come back

A young kid taking so much flak
in some nightmare filled fox hole under attack
I crouched with my bleeding friend

covered his dead back
with tears running down my face
getting lost in the rain
I could not stand all this pain

thinking fighting freedoms disgrace
now you took my Mothers face

No time to say I love you now
I see her every day

On a beach
of a time oh so long ago
I thought of the beach too far back
When reality was me and
my mother was back

We played at the shore
the Sun at our back
The wind oh so fair
blowing in her hair

she turned to smile at me
to let me know that she was free
she had returned to the sea
dont be angry just let it be

this is life no good no bad
no sad to be had thats not with glad

enjoy your treasure
dont ruin your life
with all the pain and the strife

There is wind in your hair
and Sun on your back
no longer in some fox hole under attack

Go to the sea
and be free
the colors you see

will be Me
