A self-taught photographer, JW Stovall has developed his skills over the past nine years largely through experimentation, practical experience. He has been fortunate enough to benefit from the tutelage of a few knowledgeable mentors as well. Presently, Mr. Stovall’s work focuses on the strong use of lighting and dramatic compositions that force you to take a second look. When describing his vision, he explains “My job and my joy, is to bring forth the subtle and intense beauty of ordinary things. I find that my work evokes a variety of responses, and people are often moved to share memories, dreams, and great travel stories”.
JW understands that it is not enough to simply take a good picture. Quality equipment and expertise in production are vital in creating a polished and professional final print. He shoots with high-end digital cameras, processes his images with professional software (in his ‘digital darkroom’).
Jay lives in his native Casa Grande, where he is continually inspired by the stark and beautiful desert scenery. His work can be seen on his website at www.studi06.com.
JWStovall is a member of Black and White Photography, Black with a hint of colour, Landscape Photography, Religious Art & Photography, Seasonal Greeting Cards and Spiritual Art.
