Christmas Collie by

Worn-out from the holiday festivites, rough collie Cody falls asleep beside a Poinsettia plant.

This photo is in memory of Cody, who passed away from cancer (lymphoma) two years ago on Thanksgiving weekend. Cody, a rough collie, worked as a therapy dog for 8 years, six of which were with children who were fighting all kinds of cancer. He spent two days per week, keeping kids company during chemo, making them laugh, and giving them something to do. He took 3 year olds for walks down the halls of the hospital. He helped kids look forward to their hospital visits. Cody died on November 27, 2006 at 11 years of age.

Photos of Cody working can be seen at TherapyDogs.Net. Click on Photos for pictures with the kids.
