Chicago Series: Chicago Day by

Chicago Day was a celebration of the city in the wake of the Great Chicago Fire. The graphic on this shirt is a reproduction of a poster announcing Chicago Day in 1893. The night pageant took place in front of the mammoth Manufactures and Liberal Arts Building, the largest roofed structure ever erected, big enough to contain the United States Capitol, the Great Pyramid, Winchester Cathedral, Madison Square Garden, and St. Paul’s Cathedral. Watching over the spectacle from the upper left is the “I Will” Maiden.
