My interview with

1- How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life?
Wendy: Being a creative person IS my life. Whether I am creating in the studio at my home, or in the garden, or making a meal or playing with my children it is all art. It’s about making memories and putting a personal touch on everything I do. In terms of everyday things I find I always spend a considerable part of my day actively creating…. or Redreaming
The paintings result when something of importance comes to the surface significantly related to my experience in the world. It is usually connected in some way to my feelings and thinking about my life and experiences very direct. For example one of the things important to me is creating a home-life that celebrates the right to feel safe to be one’s self. That is what my Tower series of paintings are primarily about, for all members of the family. It’s so important to the children’s future ideas about what constitutes a ‘home’ as opposed to a house. I wish to engender a positive and not always physical memory. It translates to my art that celebrates through colour joy and love.
2- Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful.
Wendy: One of the most important aspects about creating is finding an audience. Redbubble provides that in the form of other artists and of course buyers. It is always gratifying to connect to the viewer. When they both understand or discuss and share ideas, thoughts and feelings together. Feedback in the form of ‘bubblemails’ or comments on the artwork directly make it fun to share. You bounce ideas off each other and see what other people think of what you do. It is a truly international community and I particularly like that element. Takes away any sense of ‘doing it alone’ and also provides incredible inspiration. I have met a lot of new friends through redbubble and even better….connected with people I have encountered in other places online. It has a friendliness and openness that I particularly enjoy. My daughter Caroline Bandurski PROFILE HERE is also an artist and writer. Redbubble is her first experience online with an art community and it was particularly gratifying for me when she joined.
3- Show and tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you.
Wendy:
1. Derek Shockey
An artist I met originally through another site and an international exhibition called Art4people. His work is truly evocative and dramatic. He is inspiring and fresh…..i will never forget his paint spattered shoes. I am privileged to have some of his original paintings in my home. Check out his empathy for the female psyche and form.
QUEEN JANE APPROXIMATELY
2. “Patrick Miller”:http://www.redbubble.com/people/patrick...
An artist I originally met online whose oil paintings appealed to me. We are now husband and wife and the art connection was primary in our friendship and love. We discuss art a lot and while have totally different styles to each other….there is a basic similarity in the enjoyment of paint on canvas.
DAYDREAM
3.Greg Gallo
Otherwise known as ARTEOLOGY.. A like minded artist whose depth as an artist and creator is evident in the sheer beauty and breadth of his work. I have followed his art for many years and it brings me great delight and even more importantly encourages me to think and continue to create..
CONVERSATION WITH THE WIND
4. Carson Collins
The creator of The Ocean Series. There are several reasons I select Carson. His art is sublime and appeals to me on a visceral level but also there is a quietness about the art that stills the mind. I have also had several interesting discussions about Intentionality and remodernism
He also hosts a group here on redbubble, Remodernism and does a fine job of supporting inclusivity in art.
WINTER SOLSTICE
5. Firedrake
Otherwise known as Kaitlin Beckett. Her artwork and imagination is FANTASTIC….. she creates impossible creatures and beasties and that is something I admire in an artists. Boundary breaking images with their own reality in her most interesting of worlds.
BLUE DRAGON
Thank you Joan for allowing me to share my choices with everyone on redbubble

A really great idea to do something like this, and even better to kee it alive like this. A very enjoyable read, although I wish it were longer. By the time I was engrossed, it was over. Great job…..and….break a leg…..keep up the good work…well you know… :)

Linda Carol Ne...
Thank you for doing this interview, Joan.
Wendy Bandurski-Miller is a fascinating artist/communicator. It is interesting to see who moves or inspires her. I think that Patrick Miller is the best painter of women that I have seen in modern times, and Carson Collins is remarkable in his drive for life for art and artists.
I was not already familiar with the other artists she spoke of, so I’ll be learning more about them as a result of this interview.
joan warburton:
Thank you Ninnel. Very sweet of you to stop by. :)
Susan Epps Oliver
