USS New York

USS New York arrived in New York Harbor today. It contains 7.5 tons of steel from The World Trade Center in her bow.

I’ve seen the ship on TV, in the news and in magazines but I was not prepared for the overwhelming sadness that hit me as I rounded the Intrepid and saw the USS New York. It was as if someone punched me in the gut. I didn’t get too many photos and intend to go back and try again.

I finally figured out what this ship reminds me of – a Lego toy.

Great shot , this is a stealth design, to reduce radar image. A great tribute, unfortunately the “freedom tower is taking so long to complete, the WTC complex was made in less time than it’s taking. We should have let Trump rebuild it, they would have been finished already.

It’s all about greed. The contractors charging much more than what was estimated, the theft of materials on the site and the “less work for more pay” that’s seemed to embrace our country in the last ten years have sent the cost of the project skyrocketing. Trump can afford to pay the extra but the taxpayers of New York can’t. Thanks for stopping by and for your wonderful comment.

I watched it come in from my apartment. Must post some images. I was to busy to get up to the dock so missed the chance to get up close.

    Nice image…

Thank you. I’m going to try and catch it tomorrow again before it leaves. I can’t get into the city until around noon so I hope she’s still there. Plan on going to CP for some shots, too. Must be pretty right now with the leaves changing.
