Hoppers Crooked Pond

This is a lake down the street from my home. There’s very little movement in the water and it gets overgrown with lily pads. It’s a wonderful area for all the local water fowl and pond life. Large amounts of fresh water mussels are produced in this pond which attract a lot of animals. Today I saw a huge heron sitting on the other side of the lake. It was too far away for my camera lens but my neighbor mentioned it was in my yard earlier this morning when I was out.

All of the beautiful Fall colors have not fully arrived in Northern New Jersey yet but some areas change over early like Hopper’s Crooked Pond, Franklin Lakes, New Jersey.
