About This Painting Coopers Beach is in Doubtless Bay in our Far North – just a little north of Mangonui. Great place to spend the summer holidays, and its pohitikawa trees with their twisted roots grow right diown onto the beach itself.
Some friends visited from the UK about 18 months ago and I was asked to go out painting with Anne, who is learning. I can’t remember when I last painted en plein air due to work and my mom’s illness and all of a sudden there I was: put on the spot to produce – with the added drama of the public stopping by to take a look. But it turned out to be great fun, Here’s the result.
Beautiful painting…You are very talented…I am really impressed! You can create and I try to do the same with photography. You have more abilities…Good for you! Never stop! Liz
Thank you – no, I don’t think I’ll be able to stop LOL1 I’m afraid my photography is mainly of the “capture the moment” type and my camera sits on Auto most of the time – Ah Me!

An immediate fave my dear friend, for its peace, tranquility, subtlety and brush strokes. Absolutely gorgeous.
