About This Painting
The highest peak in the Tararuas (North Island, New Zealand) is The Mitre at 5154’. Go there in the summer time, and when you reach the top the hills roll away from you in all directions like a tawny lion’s back.

This is looking north west from the top of The Mitre towards The Brocket.

Acrylic on canvas board 25 × 30in. I’ve never offered this painting for sale, and I somehow don’t think I ever will.
