An ex Londoner, I have lived in South Wales since 1981, and enjoy the semi rural lifestyle, tho it does mean I’m a bit out of the mainstream, so it would be nice to talk – via this site – to fellow artists and crafts people.
I have been a professional photographer for over 30 years, and have tackled most types of work (except for weddings which i always refuse!) – my real love is still life, but there’s not much of a market for it locally. I have had several exhibitions of my work, and when I first came to wales I worked on a documentary project about the Cardiff Docklands before they redeveloped the area. The book “Below the Bridge” was published by the Museum of Wales.
Some years ago I published greetings cards of my favourite images – which you can find on my website (www.julz.org) – as well as a series of amusing postcards about relationships.
I have recently taken up weaving again, which is a craft I enjoy and I’m still experimenting. I’d be glad to hear from any other weavers to exchange tips and I’ve also started selling some looms etc on my website if anyone wants to have a look!
I keep chickens…2 cats….a very active dog…and a few fish….thinking about getting some ducks this year…..smile!
