I am a freelance natural history illustrator; my passion has been drawing dinosaurs since the age of three. I’ve had the honor of collaborating on projects with renowned museums and publishers from around the world, working closely with scientists. My own scientific background impels me to restore as realistically as possible the curiously alien environments that earth has hosted in its deep past. My style spans the gamut from pencil and ink line drawings to watercolour, pastel, 2-dimensional digital illustrations and 3-dimensional digital models, and my subjects range from dinosaurs and other prehistoric species to diverse living organisms and ecosystems, astronomy, science fiction and fantasy. My work is repeatedly featured in the periodical Prehistoric Times. In addition to book and museum projects, I also accept private commissions of artwork in a wide range of digital and traditional media. My website, http://csotonyi.com, features a growing portfolio of my work.
