The Vortix is inside by Julie Maggi

This is a picture taken from one of the two small philosophical books illustrated by Julie Maggi and written by Orazio Guarino: Closed and Vortix. Through minimalist and dark symbols, words and images form a map for the discovery of hidden truths and disquieting loneliness. The double interpretation, for pictures and text, allows a clear understanding of any constraint, while accompanying the reader in an alienating reality. A game that changes with each reading, revealing shades of black that strike the melancholy character of these two little books: a sort of sweet and introspective brother of Murnau’s Nosferatu, a solitary thinker, surrounded by objects that come to life, the only witnesses of the unfolding of his ruminations.
