I’m just replying here since you’re more likely to see it sooner.

My subject area for the textbook is teaching poetry to primary kids. I’m library qualified, and this in itself has made me realise the importance of literacy.
I’m currently helping out most mornings at the local school with their reading time, and it’s a perfect partnership, as the teacher loves poetry and most of the kids do too.
Every few days I read another one of my poems to the class, and the kids come running to me with ‘look what I’ve written!’

The seed for this book was planted by a colleague at a job where I was only a temp., but had commented on how there didn’t seem to be so many books on actually teaching poetry to kids. And her answer? Why don’t you write one!

    Well, now I have!

When it is published, I’ll contact the three primary schools I’ve worked at, and ask if they would like a copy of it (I’ll even autograph it if they want!)

I’ve seen some guidelines on a publisher’s website, and still have a mountain of work to do before I even submit it, but as they say, the more work you do before submitting, the less we have to do, which lowers the overall cost, and makes the whole production quicker.
I just have to find it in me to do that now.
