stars are falling from the sky,
the moon’s dissected,
the pieces of the pie are crumbling.

sunlight’s gone, the sun has burnt black,
because you’re gone, and i am struggling
to get through the day,to find a way
to pick up the pieces of my shattered dreams
to repair my world, torn at the seams
where the grief crashes in

you’re gone forever, you told me never to remember
but still i won’t forget. I’ll remember

where you are now you can catch the clouds,
you can sail away on a river of dreams
because they will all come true.

so now you’ve found, or so it seems,
a place that echoes your sweet dreams,
it’s never silent, even when there’s no sound,
for in my heart the music’s playing loud
in you memory.

so let the music play loud forever more,
let all the sadness fall to the floor,
let your eternal spring day fill me to the core,
just let the music play loud…

I love the dreaminess of this poem. I love this part:

sunlight’s gone, the sun has burnt black,
because you’re gone, and i am struggling
to get through the day,to find a way
to pick up the pieces of my shattered dreams
to repair my world, torn at the seams
    where the grief crashes in

    I can relate…beautiful writing, Julia!

Beautifull Writing such heartfelt words for such a loved one lost, I can feel the sorrow in your words

“so let the music play loud forever more,
let all the sadness fall to the floor,
let your eternal spring day fill me to the core,
just let the music play loud”

I’m enjoying all the writing you added to Imp, but this one really is sticking to me. It’s got a haunting, beautiful quality that is bittersweet. Lovely work, Julia.
