Wineglass Bay, Tasmania by Julia Harwood

Wineglass Bay is a well renown tourist attraction, however most people see it from a lookout up above rather than from on the actual bay.
Most people think wineglass bay was named as it’s shape has been said to resemble a wine glass but the actual reason is because there used to be bay whalers who used the bay to slaughter the whales and the water turned red and it was like a red wine. Now fortunately that is not the case & it is celebrated for it’s amazingly clear turquoise water and pristine beach.

I am a fine art photographer who has found that nature can be very healing. Many people are unable to get out and spend time in nature, so my goal is to bring nature to them. “Bringing the healing of nature, from the outside in”. So now wherever you are or whatever you do, you too can benefit from natures healing. Whether it be for yourself or as a gift, buy an image from my healing art collection and see the joy it will bring to your life.

Beautiful shot with just the perfect amount of underexposure Julia. It does look wonderful from that end and the water is a little warmer as well.

  • Thanks garth, I didn’t hop in but two guys were swimming there.
