oil on canvas,80×100cm, 2009. The painting is based on an unpublished short story of “Robert Rescue” a Berlin (Germany) living author who reads his stories on the scene.
Nobody knows exactly where the temporary pub is. It just happens to you, that you enter the next ordinary pub in Berlin and “puff” suddenly you are there. Things never really change there. The barkeeper is named Chat and since some years he is meditating about what the lady at the bar ordered to drink the moment before she turned into stone. His hope is to awake her again with the right drink. Sometimes he wants to close down the whole thing. But Chat cannot remember how he came there and he don´t know how to leave with a lady of stone at the bar and the regular guest in the corner. And the moral of the story is, It is not so easy to close a pub in Berlin….closing time does not exist here.
