My name is Julie Everhart.My friends call me Jul or Jewels. That is what I prefer to be called. :)
I am a self taught artist and photographer. Art is something I have enjoyed ever since I could hold ANY kind of writing instrument in my little hands. Of all the classes I took in school Art was my favorite. I still remember my art teachers and how much they enjoyed watching me work as they could see that I totally enjoyed what I was learning or making. I could of stayed in art class all day if I would of been allowed.
I have been sharing my photos and art online now for just slightly over a year. I have been running a group on Flickr and have enjoyed learning much about photography and editing and a friend told me about Redbubble and thought I may enjoy the community here as there is so much inspiration and it would allow me the freedom to express myself so much more He was absolutely right! . These are 2 very different worlds. I cannot even begin to tell you the differences I see here. WOW! I have been so inspired and more open about sharing my art after all I have seen on Redbubble.
I also love digital artwork and creating art using Photoshop and any other editing software I can get my hands on. Just experimenting and mixing mediums of all kinds seem to help me achieve the best results. Feeling free to try anything my heart desires is what just feels good. Art has no rules, no grade point scale and no limit to what your imagination can dream up.
Music plays a very large part in the making of my art. I cannot work on art in silence. Music plays in my office 24/7/365. With certain genres of music different art is created. I have an ability to feel the essence of my teenage years and recreate the art I made in High School just by playing music from that time period. I was a teenager in the 80’s and that music is like no other. I also enjoy the piano as my favorite musical instrument and when I play classical music I feel some of my best work is created before my eyes. I started taking organ/piano lessons when I was 9 years old and continued till I was 14. I always wish I would of continued however, I still have a keyboard and one day hope to start taking piano lessons again. Artist like Elton John, Billy Joel, Barry Mannilow, Beethoven, Bach and Rachmaninov are my personal favorites.
