Another very familiar & beloved spot, Jules. This is just wonderful ~ framing branches, puffs of clouds, colors of Muskoka. Are you familiar with the Muskoka Tartan? It was developed decades ago & became the tartan used by the Huntsville schools for their uniforms (girls in kilted skirts, boys in ties of it). It incorporates all those Muskoka colors ~ sky blue (with a hint of green in it), orangey-red for autumn leaves, the soft green of White Pine, etc. I used to float on my air mattress on Mary Lake, looking up at that very same sky & pine; the tartan was brilliantly realized!
I must agree Sheila, this area has to have some of the finest lakes and nature trails. Thank you for the favor , so glad I could stir up the memories…Jules
Here’s the Muskoka Tartan. This shows it pretty well, but when seen in the flesh, it looks a little brighter overall. I have a scarf made from it.
As beautiful as the landscape it depicts…Jules
