Not my usual photography subject but this morning this Cicada decided to pay me a visit and bathed in the sun while resting on a plant in my balcony planter. With only seconds to spare this image was taken hand-held at high noon just before it flew away.

    Great capture. I remember these when I was a kid in Colorado…noisy too. We used to find their sheddings still attached to trees
