*Blue Screen of Death*

In my last post I mentioned having computer problems, well I thought I had things under control…On Wednesday I had had enough after five Blue Screen of Death shutdowns – this girl can only take so much….So I took myself off to the lavender fields to calm myself and collect my thoughts – also a good photo-op opportunity….It was clear that there was only one thing to do – yes time to go shopping…..Now don’t get my wrong I like new things, just don’t like going shopping….As you must have guessed by now I am now the owner of a new black box (computer)….With all good things there are drawbacks; now have to learn my way around Windows 8.1 and reset all my programs so please have patience with me and I’ll get to all you much…

One Thing After Another

Some of you may be wondering where I’ve been over the few months. Well my the Winter Blues have past but things just haven’t been in my favour lately….Recently I lost my best and dearest friend; she was my rock – my go to friend when I needed to talk. You all have a friend like that, so cherish them like there’s no tomorrow.

Then there was the dreaded “Blue Screen of Death”. Yes computer problems… I think I’ve managed to get things back in smooth running order after three months of battling with the black box that seems to control almost everything we do from photo editing to paying bills…Just where would we be without these machines; to think there once was a time when we actually wrote letters and cards to one another̷…

Follow-Up – Limited Mobility

Well here I am again and things seem to be coming along slower then I’d wished. It has been recommended that I wear a “thumb spica splint” and a possibility of a cortisone shot in my left thumb. I can live with the issue but the neck is a whole different issue, unfortunately I have arthritis in my neck and it is an on-going issue that flares up from time to time.

The good thing is that I can still work with my mouse and edit/post images, but replying to comments still a one-handed job. Please forgive me if I fall behind in my correspondence, I will do my best in the months that follow.

HELP - Pop-Ups

Has anyone been getting pop-ups advertising Price-Gong on their Red Bubble screen.

Everytime I open RB it starts to advertise in the bottom corner of my screen and this is becoming very annoying. I would like to stop this from happening but don’t know how to go about it. Any suggestion are much appreciated.

SEPTEMBER 20, 2012

Yesterday Redbubble added a new function to the site, they added a “Pin it” button to allow anyone to pin work they find on Redbubble to the now well known and widely derided site known as Pinterest.

Redbubble posted a journal announcing this new function and also pointing out that if people didn’t wish to partake in this they could opt-out by changing their settings to hide the “Pin it” button. Unfortunately the journal was only prominent in the opening page for about twelve hours or so, before another journal replaced it.

I believe that it’s really important for artists to be aware of this, and that’s the reason I’ve posted thi…

Moon Photograpy

For years now I’ve been trying to achieve that perfect shot of the moon and now since I’ve got the perfect vantage point (10th floor/no obstructions) and my 70-200mm lens + 2x teleconverter I had to give it a try.

For those wishing to give this a try here are two tutorials that you might want to read first.

This is my first attempt using my 70-200mm lens with a 2X teleconverter. Straight from the camera, slight cropping only.
