Being a self-taught photographer,to this point,I would love to take a course. I do not want to commute 2 hours to go to the nearest college. I have looked into the New York Institute of Photography. Its an at home study program which can be completed in one year. Has anyone gone through it or know of someone who has? Is it worth the time and money? I can work at my own pace in the comfort of my own home. I want to take a course because I feel I am at a stale-mate. I feel I have the artistic ability and the passion but not the much needed technical ability. Any input would be appreciated. My dream is to open my own studio for portraits.
TIA~Juju

I was thinking about taking that same course a while back. It seems to be a good one, but until I finish school, I can’t take on anymore “classwork”. I will be graduating with my first degree in June and have 6 hours left for my second degree. Man, I am so looking forward to NOT going to school for a change! I just finished my homework for this week!

Also Scott Kelby has several training courses at about $200. each. What I like about NYIP is the challenges/assignments. I always like to try new things! Let me know what you decide and how you like it! Sorry I can’t offer more! :)
