big hill little peak........danilandby Juilee Pryor
another dark and mysterious landscape shot with Infrared film early one morning while I was staying at a friends place in the Hunter Valley. I’d gotten up very early to shoot for the rising sun and on my way to a place I call the ‘big valley’ …. on account of the very big valley there…… I past this hill just as the morning light hit the peak of it which makes it look like its been topped with icecream somehow. The radience of the light on this hilly peak gives the shot a different sort of drama that really appeals to me in this warm and temperate land that really never gets snow except in a few tiny places. So this then is a pretend snow topped mountain in place that is almost perfectly perfect…….
Hi there butch…. so glad you like them….. I have a couple more up my sleeve so to speak…. I’m fooling around with the idea of pairs of them…. the dark blown out silouhettes of the valleys and the more lucious landscapes like this one….. mind you I look at it and can only see the flaws….. it won’t make a really big print ….. to many clumps of grain….. but I always loved the light on the top of the hill…..:)
hey thanks danny man…. let me think if I can work out why that would be……hmmmmmm it wouldn’t be the big little combo thingy then I suppose…….:) actually dani is one of my very bestest friends and I think of the whole of the Hunter Valley as his……. daniland…… way more than just a landscape….. more like a total mindfuck
