This guy Paul used to sit outside the 7eleven store on King Street in Newtown and for a very small consideration he would recite a little poem…. I just thought he was wonderful…. he was quite ill at the time and on some kind of benefit which really wasn’t enought to live on so when he felt up to it he would get out on the street and earn a few more dollars…. so much better than begging although it was still kind of heartbreaking that he had to do it… and yet his poems where really fabulous and it always brightened up my day to see him about….

  • thanks roybarry… I love people like this guy… the little people who make the world so rich and never seem to know it… I found this old neg today and wondered about him… so I guess it’s a kind of tribute to him in the only way I know how to make one….I’m so glad you like it…..:)

I saw that poet reciting for money trick in a movie or a serie, too… Myself, I do portraits and caricature on the street (in the summertime…now it’s 28 of March and SNOW outside here, Sherbrooke, Qc) Nice! and yes, could be wonderful poet (or artists) out there…
